Sébastien Lootgieter
Sébastien Lootgieter (born 1975) was admitted to the Bar in 1999.
After graduating in maritime law from the University of Paris and internships with an oil trading company in Paris and in law firms in New York, he joined the firm Villeneau Rohart Simon in 2000 and became a partner in 2012.
Sébastien specializes in maritime law and international trade, in particular charterparties, contracts of carriage, arrests/attachments and commodity trades. His practice includes litigation and arbitration in commercial law, insurance law, logistics and transport law as well as drafting contracts for the sale/purchase of vessels.
He is a member of the French Maritime Law Association (AFDM), the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) and the French Committee on Private International Law (CFDIP).
